Wedding Drink Station Ideas

A drink station is a great way to supplement the bar during the cocktail hour. The great thing about them is that they’re super customizable, you can fully tailor your station to your wedding theme and your guests, and with wedding stations, you’re able to provide lots of options for your guests, so they can choose drinks they like the most. You can also have multiple drink stations, to really cater to all guests.

Figuring out which stations you want to have might take a bit more planning, so in this post, I’m sharing a roundup of wedding drink station ideas.

Wedding Drink Station Ideas

Coffee station

After hours of dancing, your guests might need something to pick them up, which is why having a coffee station at your wedding is such a great idea! It adds a nice and cozy touch to your wedding, but it also allows your guests to take a break and get their energy back. Here are some wedding coffee bar ideas for your big day.

Cocktail station

Okay, this is probably one of the most obvious ideas, but it’s a great idea for a reason. Who doesn’t love a good signature cocktail? The beauty in having a cocktail station is that you can cater to all of your guests and their likings, by providing so many different cocktail options.

You can have bartenders make your guests the cocktails they want on the spot, which allows your guests to fully customize their drinks - from the alcohol to the mixers.

You can go another route, and let your guests make their own drinks, kind of like a self-serve station. Of course, this is a “less safe” option as your guests can go overboard with the amount of alcohol they put in a drink, which can result in guests getting too drunk. But if you know your guests are responsible, that’s a great way to cut down the cost.

Whichever option you choose, provide different types of alcohol, all kinds of mixers and juices, lots of garnishes, as well as different glass options, so your guests can get the appropriate glass for their drink.

You can also provide some fresh fruit, so your guests can add that into their drinks.

Of course, also provide a bucket filled with ice, especially if your guests are making their own drinks, so they can add ice to their cocktails.

Also don’t forget to provide soda or sparkling water, so your guests can make mocktails too, as not everyone drinks alcohol.

Non-alcoholic station

Speaking of those who don’t drink alcohol, if you want all of them to feel fully taken care of, you can have a non-alcoholic station as well.

For this station, you can go all out on non-alcoholic drinks. Provide mocktails (or ingredients for mocktails), lemonade with different syrups, iced tea options, and juices - from freshly squeezed to bottled.

This way, your guests who don’t drink won’t feel left out, and if you’re having minors present, they’ll be able to drink delicious drinks as well.

Make sure to provide all sorts of glasses - from mason jars to fancy cocktail glasses, so whichever non-alcoholic beverage your guests choose, they can find the perfect glassware for it.

Wine & cheese station

A wine & cheese pairing station is such a sophisticated option for a wedding drink bar, that’s perfect for wine lovers and a fancy setting. If you’re having a wedding at a vineyard by any chance, this is an idea you have to do!

While this station can really work for any type of wedding, I think an outdoor wedding, a vineyard summer wedding specifically, would really fit well with this station.

To set up your wine & cheese station, provide all kinds of wine options, white wine, red wine, rose, and maybe even champagne. If you want, you can provide different options for each of those, so your guests can truly find something they like.

Then, add cheese options. Go all out and add various options, both soft cheese and hard cheese.

Finally, provide descriptions of each pairing. You can put each cheese in front of the wine bottle it pairs with nicely, and then add a note explaining what cheese that is, what wine that is, and why they go so well together.

You can provide regular wine glasses, so your guests can grab a glass of wine they love and munch on cheese that pairs with it perfectly, but you can also provide extra glasses, so your guests can do mini wine tastings and try out different kinds of wine & cheese pairs.

Champagne tower

A champagne tower is a spectacular feature that makes every wedding feel extra luxury and elegant. It involves stacking champagne glasses into a pyramid shape, and pouring champagne on top so it goes to every glass.

It’s not a typical drink station, but it’s definitely a fun addition to every wedding, and your guests will love it.

Mimosa Bar

Mimosas are not just for your bridal shower - they are also the perfect addition to your wedding reception. With a mimosa bar, you can let your guests customize their mimosas, and make them a bit different! This bar is perfect for a brunch wedding, and it allows your guests to make their own sparkling wine cocktails.

You can provide a selection of fruit juices like orange, peach, strawberry, and so on, along with chilled sparkling wine or champagne, and let your guests choose the flavor they want to go with. That way, they can choose a typical mimosa, or make it a bit different, depending on what they like.

Self-serve station

If you don’t want to have a bartender serve drinks, having a self-serve station is the best idea for you. It’s great for smaller weddings, and there are lots of ways you can make it happen. Here are some self-serve wedding bar ideas.
