We are often so focused on trying to lose weight before our wedding, but there are many women that desire to actually gain weight before their big day, because they don’t want to be super skinny brides (even though it would be  totally fine and all brides and bodies are perfect and beautiful!). 

Not everyone is blessed with a curvy physique, and there are also many women who struggle with keeping the weight on, or even gaining weight in the first place.

But thankfully, there are healthy ways to gain weight for your special day. Even though it may seem easier than weight loss to some people, it doesn’t come overnight and it truly is a struggle for many.

However, when you’re trying to gain weight it’s important to do it the healthy way - you don’t just want to eat pizza, burgers, fries, and fried chicken all day long, because that won’t be gaining weight in a healthy way.

You want to gain weight in a healthy manner, so you look and feel the best for your wedding day.

Follow a diet plan

Following a diet plan will allow you to have a schedule, know exactly what you need to eat, and it will help you have a balanced diet with the right fats, carbs, protein and fiber. 

Following a diet plan will also help you to eat frequently, on time, and enough.

It will also allow you to do grocery shopping in advance, which means you’ll always have ingredients ready for cooking, which really helps.

There won’t be excuses anymore like not having time to go pick up ingredients for a meal, or ordering fast food just because you don’t have food at home.

Eat a balanced diet

As we already mentioned, it’s important to eat a balanced diet, even when you’re trying to gain weight. 

If you don’t have a balanced diet, you can gain weight in an unwanted way - which usually means only gaining fat and no muscles.

So, you want to eat a balanced diet, filled with nutrients, healthy fats, lean protein, and nourishing fiber.

Eat healthy fats

As mentioned, healthy fats are crucial for a balanced diet, especially when you’re trying to gain weight.

Fats are necessary for every body, but you want to make sure you’re eating healthy fats, and not unhealthy fats.

Some examples of healthy fats are: olive oil, avocados, peanut butter, nuts, avocado oil, etc.

There are so many delicious recipes that include healthy fats, so you can definitely easily incorporate them in your diet.

Eat protein

Eating protein will help you build muscles, which is something you definitely want when trying to gain weight.

Eat lean meat, beans, fish - everything that’s healthy and has a lot of protein.

Eat fiber

Fiber is a crucial food group for any balanced eating, no matter if you’re trying to lose weight, or gain it. 

Veggies are NOT just diet food. They’re super important for a healthy diet, nourishment, and for being overall healthy, no matter what your weight goal is.

So, don’t skimp on those veggies!

Eat healthy carbs

You definitely don’t need to skimp on carbs when you’re on a weight gain journey, but even for this food group you want to make sure you’re eating healthy carbs. 

When we say eat carbs, we don’t mean eat pizza and burgers every day. We mean eat brown rice, whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, etc.

Eat at regular intervals

It’d be amazing if you could stick to a “schedule” for your meals, and eat at regular intervals. 

That helps your body know when to rest, know when to expect food, burn fat, and so much more.

So, if you can, have 3-4 hour breaks between your meals all the time. That will ensure you’re eating at regular intervals.

Exercise

Another super important aspect of pre wedding weight gain is exercising. 

While you can definitely gain weight just by changing your diet, it’s always recommended to work out even a little bit.

It will help you build muscles, burn fat, and gain weight in a way you want to gain weight.

You can do lifting, squats, muscle exercise, crunches, and so much more.
